Carpentry & Home Repair Services for Fort Myers Homes

Who you are actually hiring.
Artisan Handyman Service is Paul DeLuca, a finish carpenter with thirty years in the trade and a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor license, now working out of Fort Myers with his sons.
Thirty years in the trade. Most of it in New England houses that had been standing a century before Paul touched them.
Built to the house you actually have. Walls bow and floors slope. Built-ins, trim and cabinetry are scribed to fit, not shimmed and caulked.
Simple pricing. Hourly on repairs and small jobs. A firm written bid on anything with a plan.
How we approach each job.
Most of what people call handyman work is really carpentry: a door that will not close square, trim that separated when the house settled, cabinets that need to be built to fit a wall that is not straight. That is the work Paul has been doing since Boston, and it is the difference between a repair that reads as a repair and one that reads as the way the house was always built.
Measure the real house
Nothing is square. We measure what is there, not what the plans say.
Build to fit
Cut, fit and scribe on site. Coped corners, tight reveals, no gaps to caulk.
Finish clean
Caulked, sanded and ready for paint, with the room put back and the dust gone.

What do you charge?
$45 an hour with a two hour minimum on repairs and small jobs. Larger work gets a firm written bid.
Are you licensed?
Paul holds a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor license and thirty years in the trade. Florida does not require a license for carpentry, cabinetry, interior remodeling or handyman work.
Do you do plumbing and electrical?
Yes, at the repair level a Florida handyman is allowed to do: faucets, disposals, toilets, valves, outlets, switches, fixtures and fans, at $45 an hour. Permit work like panels, new circuits, re-piping and water heaters goes to licensed trades, and we coordinate them on remodels.
How soon can you start?
Usually within the week for repairs, longer for full remodels.
Do you design it or do I need drawings?
Either. Most people describe what they want and we work it out on site.
Do you give firm bids?
Yes. Anything of this size gets a written bid, not an hourly guess.
Can you match existing trim?
Usually. Older profiles can be matched or milled to match.
